John serves as Head of Private Capital Solutions and is an Executive Vice President. He is responsible for leading the Financial Sponsors national practice, and leads a team of bankers, analysts and associates working with private equity firms and other alternative investment providers. The team is responsible for structuring and executing fund-level liquidity solutions, GP financing and other custom credit arrangements. In addition, the team works with alternative investment firm founders and executives on their personal planning, investment, wealth transfer and other wealth management needs. John has extensive financial services experience as a private banker working directly with high-net-worth families and institutional clients.

Prior to joining Northern Trust in 2012, he worked for Wells Fargo Private Bank, focusing on serving families with complex financial and investment needs. He had similar responsibilities for developing optimum credit solutions ranging from high-end residential mortgages to highly customized credit facilities to the firm’s clientele. His prior positions include working for HSBC Private Bank, in New York City, where he was responsible for working with families across the globe and providing strategies and solutions to help accomplish a wide range of financial objectives.

John earned his B.A. degree from State University of New York at Purchase and studied Statistics at The Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest, Romania. He is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and holds a Certificate in Private Banking from the Wealth Management Institute in Singapore.

He serves on the board of Food Rescue, US, a national organization which is focused on ending food insecurity throughout the United States.
