Jane Western

Jane Western joined Northern Trust in August 2019 and serves as Chief Operating Officer for Front Office Solutions Previously, she was Senior Director, Governance & Investment Operations for American Red Cross’ investment team responsible for its retirement and endowment assets; her areas of focus were governance, risk management, and investment operations. Prior to American Red Cross, Jane was Managing Director – Trust Operations & Risk Management for The Boeing Company. She has been a keen advocate of risk management practices for many years and has led and facilitated numerous industry panels and programs on the subject. Jane conceived and co-led the CIEBA Risk Task Force from 2008 to 2015, collaborating with a dedicated crew of major corporate plan sponsors. For many years Jane was a member of the leadership for Women Investment Professionals, strengthening the organization and supporting its growth and development. Jane’s career in the institutional investment business spans over thirty-five years, having held several plan sponsor positions with additional roles in investment consulting and marketing and client servicing. She has also worked for Ameritech Corporation, Fidelity Investments, Wilshire Associates, and Household International. Jane just completed eight years of service on the Investment Committee for St. Olaf College.

Jane has a BA in Mathematics from St. Olaf and an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
