As Head of Business Development, International (EMEA & APAC) Douglas and his team engage with both asset managers and institutional asset owners globally to develop strategic solutions to support their front, middle and back office needs. Through deep sector knowledge and a consultative approach, they help organisations to identify opportunities to maximise the efficiency of their investment operations and reduce risks and costs across the investment lifecycle. This is achieved by designing the optimal combination of asset enhancement, asset administration and asset servicing solutions made available via Northern Trust Whole Office™. These solutions are underpinned by attentive service and advanced technology, leveraging digital innovations to boost transparency, decision-making and business resiliency.
Based in London, Douglas leads sales teams across Asia-Pacific, Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) with offices spanning Australia, China, Guernsey, Hong Kong, Ireland, Luxembourg, Middle East, the Netherlands, Nordics, Singapore, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
Prior to assuming this responsibility in January 2024, Douglas spent eight years as Head of Business Development, EMEA Asset Servicing and prior to that led a team focused on developing solutions for Northern Trust’s asset owner client base including pension fund, insurance, sovereign wealth fund, central banking and charity sectors.
Douglas joined Northern Trust in 2008 and over this time has helped to differentiate and develop our approach to business development with a focus on value based consultative selling. He is passionate about helping clients to identify and realise valuable business outcomes in tandem with achieving the cost and efficiency gains typically associated with asset servicing.
Douglas applies his experience across business development roles in a number of different sectors, including IT and Consulting. He earned a B.Sc. degree, with honours, in Computer Sciences and Politics from University of West England, Bristol.
