Alex Taylor

Alex is an executive vice president and the chief administrative officer for Northern Trust. In her role, Alex is responsible for unifying talent-related strategies and services. She has responsibility for Human Resources, Workplace Services and Global Physical Security. Since being appointed in October 2022, Alex has led an inclusive and competitive talent strategy designed to elevate performance and create a world-class employee experience for over 23,000 Northern Trust employees in more than 20 countries.   

Alex is a global HR leader with more than 20 years of experience across strategy, employee relations, compensation, recruitment, DEI, organizational design and process excellence. She was with Bank of America for nearly two decades, where she held numerous roles. Before joining Northern Trust, she led HR for the corporate, institutional and wealth management businesses. She also oversaw the team responsible for regulatory relations, conduct and culture.  

Alex holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration from the University of South Carolina. In her role as a Rush University Medical Center Trustee, she serves on the health system’s Human Capital and Compensation Committee and the Education & Workforce Development Advisory Council. Committed to diversity, equity and inclusion, Alex is the Executive Sponsor of Northern Trust’s Black Business Resource Council, a member of The Chicago Network, and previously served on the Toigo Board, an organization committed to the ongoing development and promotion of exceptional diverse talent.
