Note from Northern Trust Philanthropy Director
From our company’s earliest days, we’ve worked in service of a better future for our communities. Whether through philanthropy or volunteerism, supporting basic needs—food security, affordable housing, quality education and accessible healthcare—is proven by research to make the greatest long-term impact. So that’s what we continue to do: Provide opportunities for those who often don’t receive them due to race, ethnicity, gender, geography or socio-economic conditions. In that way we not only assist communities in their moment of need, but also help provide the tools necessary for them to build a better tomorrow.

Northern Trust
Food Security
Ensuring reliable, everyday access to nutritious meals strengthens concentration, the ability to fully participate in school and patterns that sustain long-term physical health.
Affordable Housing
Stable housing can serve as the foundation for a secure future. We prioritize funding to organizations assisting people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness with access to safe and permanent housing.
Quality Education
Supporting educational equity and persistence inspires the fullest realization of professional achievement.
Accessible Healthcare
Maximizing healthcare access and awareness directly impacts physical and financial well-being.
Global Volunteerism
Northern Trust employees liberally give their time and talents—year-round—to help move our communities forward, but this was especially true during this year's global month of service. In October 2022, Team Northern Trust came out in force, more than doubling previous volunteerism hours.
