Prior to joining Northern Trust’s advisory practice in early 2015, Alexandra (“Ali”) practiced law in the financial services litigation group of an Atlanta based law firm. Ali’s legal experience allowed her to gain extensive knowledge on complex financial and wealth management strategies, as well as develop a comprehensive and practical approach to advising high net worth individuals, corporate executives, and families to achieve their financial objectives. Ali is admitted to practice law in Georgia and the District of Columbia.
Ali earned her Bachelor of Arts, with honors, from the University of Michigan, her J.D. from Emory University School of Law, and her LL.M. in Taxation, on the Dean’s List and with distinction, from Georgetown University Law Center.
Ali enjoys traveling, hiking, and spending time with her family.
As a Senior Vice President and the Senior Fiduciary Officer (“SFO”) for the Mid-Atlantic Region, Ali works with high-net-worth individuals and families to help them holistically manage, preserve, and transfer their wealth across generations. As SFO, Ali provides fiduciary risk oversight for the D.C., Philadelphia, and Atlanta offices, is responsible for administering large, multi-generational trusts for which Northern Trust serves as trustee, and works directly with clients and their advisors to provide proactive pre- and post-mortem planning ideas, define and implement comprehensive estate plans, effectuate complex estate tax and charitable strategies, and educate successive generations about family wealth. Ali works within a multi-disciplined wealth advisory team complementing the delivery of Northern Trust’s investment management services and credit and banking capabilities to holistically help individuals and families simplify and manage their financial lives.
Ali is a member of the Washington D.C. Estate Planning Council and Taxation section of the Washington D.C. Bar.
