EXPERTISE

Robert Stenmark is the country head for Norway and is responsible for business development, sales, and client activities for Northern Trust in Norway. Additionally, he is the Nordic Head of Depositary Services which involves responsibility for the delivery and development of Northern Trust’s depositary offering in the region as well as managing the Nordic depositary team.

 

EXPERIENCE

Robert joined Northern Trust in 2021 where he took part in setting up our new Norwegian branch to expand our footprint in the Nordic region, including our depositary offering. Robert has played an important role in growing and expanding our onshore depositary and asset servicing solutions to the the local market. He has more than 10 years of experience from the Norwegian and Nordic financial services industry, with expertise within asset servicing. Prior to joining Northern Trust, Robert held various positions at Svenska Handelsbanken including Head of Securities Services Norway and as registered de-facto leader of the local depositary services. Robert has been an active member of Norway’s Depositary Market Forum since 2018.

 

EDUCATION

Robert has a Double Degree from Católica Lisbon School of Business and Economics (Portugal) & BI Norwegian Business School (Norway), where he earned an International Master of Science (MSc) in Business Administration, majoring in Corporate Finance and Control, and a Master of Science (MSc) in Business and Economics, majoring in Finance.
