Peter N. Lantero is an Executive Vice President and the Head of Banking & Treasury Services. He is also the President, CEO and Chairman of The Northern Trust International Banking Corporation (TNTIBC).

As the Head of Banking and Treasury Services, Pete manages four distinct businesses: 1) Corporate & Institutional Lending, 2) Global Banking (TNTIBC), 3) Treasury Management and 4) Benefit Payment Services.    Each of these product lines support thousands of Northern Trust clients across the globe in both Asset Servicing and Wealth Management business units.

Under Pete's direction, the Banking and Treasury Services (BTS) group has grown at a double-digit pace by moving quickly to take advantage of the macro-environment. Across BTS, Pete leads a team of 200 client facing professionals who consistently differentiate BTS offerings by their levels of expertise, service and integrity.

From a management perspective, Pete has a passion for mentoring younger employees of Northern Trust. He also finds it very rewarding to problem solve in the areas he oversees, in order to increase productivity and positively impact the performance of Northern Trust and its clients.

Prior to his current role, Pete was the Head of the Institutional Investors Group within Asset Servicing. He directed a unit that managed the financial needs of 2,000 Asset Owner clients - including ~50% of the S&P 500.

From 2003 – 2015 Pete was the Chief Financial Officer for the Asset Servicing Business Unit. His responsibilities included oversight for finance divisions in the US, Canada, Europe and Asia.

Prior to joining Northern Trust, Pete was the President of First State Bank of Calumet City. In this capacity Pete was responsible for all facets of the management and governance of a $250MM financial institution. He also served as the Senior Retail Lending Officer at Corus Bank N.A. Pete began his career as an Auditor at Ernst & Whinney.

Pete received his B.S. degree in Accounting from the University of Illinois, and an M.B.A. in Finance from the University of Chicago.

Pete is a Certified Public Accountant.

Pete is active in a number of charitable organizations including as a Board Member for Metropolitan Family Services and Catholic Charities St Nicholas Ball.

He previously served on the board of the Greater Chicago Food Depository, Calumet City Resources, and Junior Achievement.

Peter is also the former Audit Committee Chairman for the Greater Chicago Food Depository.
