Susan C. Levy
General Counsel
Susan C. Levy is executive vice president and general counsel of Northern Trust, a leading provider of wealth management, asset servicing, asset management and banking to corporations, institutions, affluent families and individuals. She is a member of the corporation’s Management Group.
As General Counsel, Susan oversees a legal department consisting of more than 117 employees across the globe.
Prior to joining Northern Trust in 2014, Susan was the Managing Partner of the law firm Jenner & Block, LLP from July 2008 through April 2014. She began her tenure with Jenner & Block in 1982 and she was a member of the firm’s litigation department where she regularly advised the firm’s clients on complex business litigation matters.
Susan received a J.D from Harvard Law School and a B.A. magna cum laude from Cornell University.
Susan serves on the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees of the Ravinia Festival of Chicago and is a member of the American Law Institute, the Chicago Network, the Northwestern Law Corporate Counsel Institute, and the Bank Policy Institute. In 2016 Susan served as the Chair of the Chicago Bar Foundation’s “Investing in Justice” Campaign.
